PhD Student at the University of Lecce in the Dept. of biology, laboratory of Botany, with Prof. G. Dalessandro. Title of the research project is "Formation of intermolecular linkages (cross-links) between cell wall polymers and their possible variation in reply to oxidative stress. During my PhD I joined the group of Prof. S. C. Fry at the Edinburgh University to study the effect of oxidative stress on formation of galacturonoyl esters and amides in pectins of plant cell walls.
Post-graduate degree (50/50 cum laude) in the "Biotechnological applications and applied genetics" school in Bari. Supervisors: Prof. G. Dalessandro and Prof. R. Gallerani; thesis title: "Ruolo della glicosilazione come risposta allo stress idrico in due genotipi di grano duro con differente sensibilitá allo stress".
Participation to the SIFV (Societá Italiana di Fisiologia Vegetale) school for young researchers on "Biologia delle interazioni tra le piante e i microorganismi patogeni".
Participation to the SICA (Societá Italiana di Chimica Agraria) school on "Role of membrane activities in plant production: molecular and agronomic aspects".
Participation to the SIFV (Societá Italiana di Fisiologia Vegetale) school for young researchers on "Biotechnology in plant physiology".
Post-graduate collaboration with Prof. G. Dalessandro and Prof. G. Piro on a project concerning the study of vesicular trafficking of cell wall polysaccharides and glycoproteins in maize roots.
Graduated cum laude in biology at the Lecce University in the dep. of biology, lab. of Botany, supervisor Prof. G. Dalessandro; thesis title: " Caratterizzazione di polisaccaridi e proteine di parete di una microalga dell`Antartide".
