Characterisation of five GH16 glycanase and transglycanase activities and of their hemicellulosic substrates (PhD thesis):
Cloning and characterisation of mixed-linkage glucan : xyloglucan endotransglucosylase from Equisetum.
Recently, all species that were tested from the evolutionarily isolated genus Equisetum (horsetails) have been shown to contain
a novel cell wall-acting enzyme activity – mixed-linkage glucan : xyloglucan endotransglucosylase (MXE).
This work aims to identify the enzyme responsible for MXE activity and to study the biochemistry of the MXE reaction.
Research funding: BBSRC (2009-2013)
